Clyde & Barbara Aldridge

In 1976—the year America celebrated its 200th birthday—Clyde W. Aldridge founded his tax service business in Nahunta, Georgia, following his retirement from the U.S. Navy in 1975. In 1977, he expanded into the insurance business. Over the years, the agency grew to include offices in Kingsland, Folkston, Dawson, Saint Marys, and Waycross, Georgia.

Clyde retired from business ownership on December 31, 2018. On January 1, 2019, he and his wife, Barbara, proudly gifted the Nahunta and Waycross offices to their daughter, Sherri Herrin, and son-in-law, Van Herrin. Together, they continued the agency’s long-standing tradition of integrity, service, and commitment to the community.

We are now proud to announce that Herrin Aldridge Insurance Agency LLC is becoming Herrin & Thrift Insurance Agency LLC. This change reflects the addition of a new generation—Caleb & Haley Thrift—to the family business. While the name is evolving, we remain the same trusted company with the same people, values, and dedication to serving our customers and community.
